Megan Pachecano received her Master of Music degree in Classical Voice from Manhattan School of Music. Recently making the switch from mezzo-soprano repertoire, Ms. Pachecano began her soprano career by performing Susanna in the Manhattan School’s Spring 2010 production of Le nozze di Figaro. Her portrayal of the role was praised by Opera News as being “edgy and energetic.” Other performances at the Manhattan School included Meg Page in scenes from Verdi’s Falstaff and Annabel Lee in Gargoyle Garden, an Opera Outreach production.

A native of Texas, Ms. Pachecano graduated from the University of Texas with a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance; it was there that she performed the roles of Cherubino in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro, Orlofsky in Strauss’ Die Fledermaus, Zweite Dame in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, Miss Pinkerton in Menotti’s The Old Maid and the Thief, and Sally in Barber’s Hand of Bridge.

As a Studio Artist at Opera New Jersey, Ms. Pachecano covered the role of Pitti-Sing in Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Mikado. She later returned to sing the role of Hansel in Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel with their Youth Education program.

In addition to opera, Ms. Pachecano enjoys singing concert repertoire and has performed solos in Haydn’s Lord Nelson Mass and Little Organ Mass, Mozart’s Coronation Mass, Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater, Scarlatti’s Stabat Mater, and on the 2006 Naxos recording American Choral Music featuring Susanne Mentzer.  She has been a featured soloist with the Austin Symphony Orchestra, Astoria Symphony, and Round Rock Symphony Orchestra, and recently made her Lincoln Center Debut with Manhattan Concert Productions singing an excerpt from Handel’s Judas Maccabaeus at Alice Tully Hall.
